Overview

Wauna Viewpoint is currently closed due to the 2017 Eagle Creek Fire. Check the [Forest Service site] (https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/crgnsa/recarea/?recid=30000) to determine access.

This is a short, sometimes steep hike up to a stunning viewpoint in the Columbia River Gorge. The hike can be started from either the Toothrock Trailhead or Eagle Creek Trailhead. Complete as an out and back from either trailhead or complete a loop, connecting the trailheads with the Historic Columbia Highway and Gorge 400 trail.

Beware of poison oak.

Getting Started

Take exit 40 from I-84 east to the Toothrock Trailhead. There are restrooms at the Wahclella Falls trailhead. Take exit 41 for the Eagle Creek Trailhead. Cross the bridge over Eagle Creek near the day-use area.

Taking Children

Steep hike for young children.
