Sunset/Sunrise on Chocorua and Middle Sister w/Bruin
Mild to moderate incline most of the way following Champney Falls Trail to Piper Trail up. Brooks were easily passable with the low water levels. Scrambles towards the top met us with some steep but certainly doable exposed ledges - even my 12-year-old pit mix faired well (with some help coming down in a few spots). But wow, those 360 views! The sunrise that evening was spectacular and we were graced with a beautiful sunrise the next morning too! Popped over to Middle Sister on our way out and happy we ended up doing that loop counterclockwise - with our dog it was easier for him to ascend the rocky ledges of Middle Sister Trail, and the descent down Champney Falls Cut-Off was much more mild, especially for hims.
Side note: footing expected to be tricky/super slick in spots if wet.

Champney Falls
Water crossings ok but boots in water on some rocks. Muddy areas, water running in trail but not a lot. Trail very rough above the loop intersection, probably due to water erosion exposing more rocks. Slabs had some moisture in them but easily avoided. A few bugs here and there but if you keep moving it's tolerable. Great views from the old fire tower area near Middle Sister.
Mt Chocorua via Champney Falls Trail
Great day hike combining waterfalls, switchbacks, and a final scramble to one of the most picturesque peaks in NH with spectacular 360 views. This is a 2,250 foot climb that starts easy and gets progressively more difficult. Planning to do this again on a less humid day when visibility is better.
Mt Chocorua
Via Champney Falls, and Middle Sister trails. Includes a stop at the falls, and the Middle Sister Cutoff.
