Thomas Lakes bear Mt Sopris
First time to Mt Sopris area. Really enjoyed this lovely hike. Moderate steepness and sandy rocky trail. Occasional water along the trail for the dogs and of course they loved swimming in each of 4 lakes. The smaller lake had ice on it. The first of the two biggest lakes had fish, but we did not try fishing. Quite a few great designated camp sites for which you don’t need a reservation. Camp site 11 is really cool but none of them are less than great. Would be great for a two night backpack including a summit day. Sopris has two summits that are exactly the same elevation to the foot. 16 days to the election, much discussion of what might happen either way the it goes. God save us!
