Nice hike, good views all the way. Initially of the Tuolumne Meadows area & then then the Tuolumne river closer to Glen Aulin. Fairly easy going, not much elevation change

22A. (885) Glen Aulin
22A. (885) Glen Aulin This trail follows the Tuolumne River to Glen Aulin High Sierra Camp. You must camp at the established backpacker sites at Glen Aulin High Sierra Camp your first night. Backpackers can then day hike to the many waterfalls along the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne River downstream. Tioga Road is closed during winter and typically opens in late May, but can open earlier or later depending on snowpack. If you make a reservation and the road is closed, your permit is not valid and there is no refund. Bears are active and have obtained food from backpackers in this area. Fires are only permitted in the established communal fire rings. Along the Tuolumne Watershed, ensure all washing and waste is 300' from water. Please follow Leave No Trace outdoor ethics and help protect Yosemite Wilderness. Half Dome is NOT available with this trailhead. If you want to walk up Half Dome during your hike, you will need to get a separate day use Half Dome Permit.

Lumsden parking lot to Glen Aulin High Sierra Camp
This was our first stop on our Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne trip. Glen Aulin is a very peaceful spot. The backpacker camp is quite nice, with toilets and potable water. There is even a camp store.
