Easy hike except for a few snowy sections, but no post-holing as the path was well packed. There are rangers at both ends to answer questions. Even though none of the local indigenous people have claimed knowledge or history of the medicine wheel, they still hold ceremonies there. We were told that a ceremony was held just before we arrived and that would have been interesting to see. There are 360 degree views from the top and it was quite cool and breezy up there.

Medicine wheel hike
Hiked out to the medicine wheel monument. You hike along a road that opens up in a couple of days but if you want to stop at the medicine wheel, you have to hike in. The reason why the road stays closed until now is that there is a snowbank that is slow to melt out. The medicine wheel was really interesting and I’m glad we made the trip.
