This trail goes by Kearsarge Mountain State Forest and Winslow State Park.

Getting Started

The trails start at the south (uphill) end of Winslow State Park ($4.00 fee to enter when open). Parking is at the south end and its only a few steps to the trailhead. Winslow State Park https://www.nhstateparks.org/visit/state-parks/winslow-state-park.

Taking Children

The Winslow trail is a straight uphill climb for 1 mile. The Barlow trail winds around the mountain ascending more gradually for 1.8 miles. Great views from the summit. Winslow SP has a playground, toilets, water picnic tables and pavilions. Consider hiking with children 8+.

Ascended by the Barlow trail only and then continued over and down the other side as part of a longer thru hike. The trail is substantially eroded with lots of exposed roots and some slick rock that would be tricky if wet. Conditions were very good for this hike.

This was a fairly easy hike, steep going up the Winslow Trail but only a mile. Great views from the top.
