Overview

This is an easy out and back trail to Eaton Canyon Waterfall in Eaton Canyon Park.

Get there early as parking fills up quickly. This is a popular trail so it does get busy. A good set of waterproof boots or water shoes are helpful for the multiple creek crossings, though you can also just hop across rocks and logs with little difficulty. Kids especially will enjoy walking right through the creek, which is rarely over several inches deep.

It's only shaded in parts, so come prepared.

The falls at the end require a little scrambling up some rocks, but nothing too difficult. In the summer, the falls are not much more than a small stream, but still impressive.

Taking Children

This is a great hike for families with kids, since the ascent is not steep at all, and there are plenty of opportunities to splash around in the creek to cool down.

Other reviewer: I took my two kids, 4 and 6. They both did great. They are avid hikers since little, but children should do well at any level. Simply stopped along the trail under a tree to have snacks and continued on.
