Natural Bridge Trail
Overview
The Natural Bridge hike in Death Valley National Park is a short but worthwhile desert canyon walk to a 35’ natural rock arch. The trail follows a gravel wash between steep canyon walls before reaching the arch, which was carved by flash floods over thousands of years. Continuing past the arch, you pass by a 30-ft-high dry waterfall carved into a polished chute. At 0.6 miles, a class-3 scramble is required to climb another dry fall and enter a narrows.
Getting Started
Head south for 13 miles on Badwater Road from the junction with Highway 190 near Furnace Creek. Turn left (east) for 1.5 miles on gravel, steep, potholed Natural Bridge Road. There is a toilet at the trailhead.
Taking Children
Nice hike for children, as it is relatively flat, and the canyon may offer some shade.
