Hagerman Pass
Overview:
With three outstanding wilderness areas as a backdrop, Turquoise Reservoir serves as a focal point for many recreational activities, especially fishing. Great hiking trails, including the Colorado Trail, crisscross the area. In addition, you’ll see two historically significant railroad tunnels. To make a long day out of it, you can continue another 43 miles past Ruedi Reservoir to Highway 82 at Basalt and return to Leadville via Independence Pass.
Rating: Moderate
Some embedded rock on each side of the pass but most of the road is wide and graded.
