    Beautiful hike with great views of Cascade mountains and Smith Rock formations. Saw lots of large hawks, osprey, falcons, even an eagle. Went counter clockwise and it was a long hot uphill slog. The way down had nice switchbacks so we may go clockwise next time.

    Gorgeous day for a hike and the weather was perfection. Cool at first but it warmed up nicely and the shadows of the rocks were helpful to cool off when we finished in the afternoon heat.

    Beautiful 7.8 mile hike on the perimeter trail at Smith Rock State Park. Follow the Crooked River, then ascend the rocky trail as you encircle the Smith Rock formation. Expansive views of the snow-capped Cascade Range to the West.
