Window Rock via Canyon Rim Trail(edit)

Overview

The Canyon Rim Trail traverses the northern edge of Monument Canyon along Book Cliff from the visitor center out to Window Rock. Enjoy amazing views of the canyon and Independence Monument as well as excellent photo opportunities along the entire route. The views are especially good at sunrise.

While the hike itself is not strenuous, the trail does travel fairly close to the rim edge and may be more challenging for those with concerns about heights.

Getting Started

There is parking available at the visitor center; however it can become quite crowded at times. The trailhead is located behind the visitor center.
