Overview
This is a difficult one way trail utilizes the Tahoe Rim Trail (TRT) in Lake Tahoe Basin. This trail takes you past the Heavenly Mountain Resort where you start along the TRT and walk under the chairlifts. The single track trail takes you along the ridges and through the forest to Star Lake, a high alpine lake in the Tahoe, via Monument Pass. Make sure your bring plenty of water and treat any water before drinking. Great camping at Star Lake, note that the outlet of the lake can be cluttered with logs.
This trail goes by Star Lake and you can detour to East Peak Lake.

TRT Day 12 Track
We started today at Stagecoach chairlift, as we needed somewhere to park the car for 3 days near the TRT. The first 0.6 miles was straight up the Olympic run to reconnect with the TRT which passes through Heavenly Valley Ski Resort. From there, we went another 13+ miles with loads of ascent, past Star Lake, where we'd originally planned to camp for the night. We were feeling good enough to go another 4.5 miles to shave mileage off of our day tomorrow. The weather has turned colder, with temps dropping into the 30s at night.
