Climb from Sugarloaf State Park trail head. Traces of recent fire but still beautiful. Vistas open with climb. Crossed a creek with nice flow of water in early June. The map does not show it! The photo was taken at the creek crossing. The Hood Mountain summit trail has been diverted and passes below the summit area. This part of the trail is apparently in the Habitat restoration zone. The trail has many rocky sections. The grade is generally smooth, without steep stretches.
