Unfortunately the route shown here is badly messed up and I can't figure out how to change it. Whoever created this route accidentally put major backtrack sections in. There are no downhill sections on the trail. The actual length is 6.4 miles.

This is a difficult one way trail to Sandia Crest in Cibola National Forest.

This trail goes by Whiskey Peak and The Thumb.

The terrain is mostly sand/small gravel with rocky sections. The trail crosses a rock slide several times in the switch back section about halfway up.

Getting Started

Take Forest Service Road 333. Follow the signs for La Luz. The trailhead has its own parking lot. It's a pretty small parking lot. It fills up on nice saturday mornings.
