A great winter hike with trail very easy to navigate as well as great footing most of the way. A couple of ‘bum shimmies’ on the ledges, but only for 6-8 feet in distance. Sheltered from the wind, unless you are on the ledges. Snow packed well the whole way, microspikes very helpful. Snowshoes not needed at all.

Great trail, lots of roots and rocks but that's hiking. Went counterclockwise on the UNH trail, which is the short way up and the long way down. The .3 miles to Allens Ledge is worth the extra. Summit is nice enough but the East Ledges are where it's at. Spectacular views.
