This was a really fun little hike. We walked up the dry stream bed to find the petroglyphs and talked with the kids about what they might mean. Then we climbed up out of the stream bed into a huge stone valley, filled with round sandboxes for the kids to explore. There were dozens of big horn sheep hanging out on the hillside. It felt like wilderness, we only saw a few people and parking was easy.
A very helpful fellow at Zion Ponderosa Ranch told us about the hike, the park doesn't promote the petroglyphs to protect them.
