We were really lucky to meet someone that was familiar with the trail. He gave us pointers about making sure we were well equipped with rope because the descent to Coyote Gulch from this entrance required feeding our packs down. The crack in the wall was so narrow we had to squeeze through. Took what seemed to be the clear route down the mountain through tons of switchbacks til we realized on Gaia we were way off trail. After some grumbling and referring to the map, we took a very, very steep shortcut back to the trail, up what we called "Sand Mountain".
