Five out of five for difficulty rating. At least a mile rock scramble up at the end as you approach the summit. Views are pretty spectacular, both back into Tonto National Forest and into civilization and distant Phoenix. Decent number of people on the trail, all suffering, but only a few others at the top when we were there. Also a plaque at the top memorializing 6 people who died in a plane crash. Anyway, this is a really good and challenging hike, but the better views are to the north so the loop we did the day prior was nicer and had fewer people. Also, this was probably just over 6 miles from our camp site. My phone crapped out in the middle. Actual elevation game 2,776, according to Lauren.
