Table Top
Table Top- #14/ 4,413'
- 35 degrees at the ADK Lodge parking area. Gorgeous, clear skies. Legs were very chilled and hands were pretty cold for the first half hour. Soft shell gloves adequate for temps in the upper 30s lower 40s. Time for the Buff as well. Long sleeve base layer top and bottom was necessary during the start. Temps warmed up to the 50s and 60s by the time I summited and descended Table. No wind though :)
- Shock corded shoulder strap water bottle holder system requires grooved bottles like a Gatorade bottle. Smart Water bottles slip out with all the jarring vibrations caused by the trail. The sip tops are a no go! They break easily and leave you with a leaky top. GU energy packets are awesome. Great, quick boosts of energy.
- Easy all the way up to the jct with the trail to table top right below Indian Falls. Tons of water courtesy of Marcy and Phelps Brook. The herd path to Table is very tight and choked with roots, blowdown, and widow makers. The trail is pretty easy to follow. Lots of mud below summit. Moderate to steep at certain points. A few slippery slabs present. Beautiful up close view of Marcy and Haystack. The trail to Table is very easy to miss! Be alert! I almost ended up on Marcy, lol.
