I started at the River Walk at the end of Granby Landing Road. This is basically the start of the Timmerman Trail and the end of the riverwalk. After less than a mile you'll come to a fork which loops around Congaree Creek and is paved the whole way. I always send this link from my GPS phone and it has an exact map (that little picture under the description) for those who want a clearer idea of the trail. The trail is totally open but Congaree Creek Heritage Preserve right above it is closed, still flooded and mosquito infested, even with the cold. The Park helpers said the water table is full and there's nowhere for it to go and we're still expecting more rain this. The Congaree River was high with no rocks exposed meaning no gulls. The birding was decent and the highlights were a Double-breasted Cormorant feeding on a fish in the middle of the river and a Gray Catbird. Wingstem was blooming on the Winter Solstice. Strange times.
