This trail is out of the way unless you combine it with other trails. It connects to Hidden Canyon Overlook, and it starts on Dubinky Well Road. There are other trails on Dubinky Well Road including Hidden Canyon, which connects to the Pickle and Tusher Tunnel. You can make a day of trails in this area.
Bartlett Overlook starts out sandy but ends up getting rocky as you get closer to the end. Most SUVs should have no issues, though. There is one section of rock that is fun for Jeeps and bigger vehicles.
You start on Dubinky Well Road just after crossing a cattle guard. You soon come to a gate. Make sure to close it behind you after you pass through.
After a few miles you start finding rocky sections on the trail. Most of these sections cannot be bypassed. Skid plates are a good idea through here.
When you come to a network of trails that are all connected, you can see that it is really trails going in only three directions. You came in from the southeast and you need to turn northeast (almost directly east) to see the overlook.
The trail continues to be rocky and soon you come to another intersection. This is the loop that goes by the overlook, so you can take either trail.
The trail goes by the overlook, so you can park here and get out to view the area. You can see for miles. One of the most interesting things is the section of rock that you are looking over that looks like it will have an arch or spires in hundreds or thousands of years. The view is gorgeous, and this would be a great place for lunch.
You can go out the way you came in, or continue on to Hidden Canyon Overlook.
