Trailhead is at the end of Boyce Mill Road. This is an unpaved road that is quite rutted in places and in particular on the uphill section from Hwy 98 itself. Parking is available for no more than 2 cars. The trail starts by crossing over a wire barrier and follows the track part of Boyce Mill Road itself before turning left to pass a large pond. The trail mostly undulates gently following the shoreline through beech forest. This a short section that terminates at Hwy 98. The section can be started here instead as there is pulloff parking for 2 or 3 cars.
