A hard hike starting from Long Ridge OSP (free roadside parking for a few cars at coordinates 37.269383,-122.141427), hiking down to Pescadero State Park's Peter's Creek. The creeks were running strong after a week of rains. Towards the last section of the one-way hike, we couldn't cross the rushing Peter's creek as it was too wide and deep, so instead, we opted for an out & back hike. We started on the Hickory Oaks trail; left on Ward road; continuing on Ward Truck trail; right on Slate Creek trail; at the Slate Creek Trail Camp we turned right on Bear Creek trail; right on Peters Creek trail; returning on the same trails back to the parking area. We observed many fungi sprouting along the trails after the recent rains. The creeks were all running strong with many small waterfalls. Many tree branches and trees have fallen during the recent rain storms, some creating a challenging crossing experiences (see pictures).
