Villebilly Nov. 10, 2018 I started out early and proceeded to get lost, kind of. There is a wash approximately 1.5 miles into hike that is the turn off down 75 mile creek. I proceeded on straight on a trail(there are Cairns) that I now know is Old Hance Trail. Eventually, i lost trail and retraced my steps back towards camp. I consulted with the 6 backpackers and we hiked together after I filtered more water. All 7 of us became confused at how to get back to river until we discovered that we had to climb down 75 mile creek wash. This led us to Colorado in large slot canyon and the 6 guys decided to eat lunch. I moved on and the river trail was not as easy as it looked from above. There were many scrambles both up and down and after some time and about 3 miles i reached Red Canyon. A group of a river rats were camping for the night and offered me free food and beer. They were a great bunch from Canada and very familiar with the River. about 8pm i slipped over to my hammock and fell fast asleep.
