Adrenaline2 March 27, 2020 This hike is one of the steepest hikes that I can recall ever doing. The last half mile of the ascent is 3000' per mile in elevation. Let that sink in: 1000'/mile is considered strenuous, and this hike has a section that is three times that steep! The beauty of this hike is that it is short, and you'll encounter almost nobody on this offshoot of the very popular Ira Spring Trail. So, while the parking lot may be full, you'll have this trail all to yourself. The beginning of it is off the first big turn off the logging road that is the start of the IST; just look for a faint trail off to the left at that turn.
