Easy begineer backpack trip in Joshua Tree National Monument. Starting at the Boy Scout Trailhead in JT, the route leads to Willow Hole, a watering hole in a canyon then back out through the wonderland of rocks. There are trails not shown (Big Pine etc.) that are options. Camping spots are available anywhere up against the rock piles which dominate the landscape. After meeting the Big Pine trail, the route drops 1500 feet in a couple miles before hitting the flats and reaching the Indian Cove Trailhead on the road out to the Indian Cove Campground.
