Larry Kuper Sept. 17, 2019 This is not a difficult hike. As you can see from the elevation chart, the first climb is if you go to the observation overlook at the beginning of the hike and then another to the base of the falls. The view of Prismatic Spring is great along the beginning of the trail and from the overlook. You hike to the pool at the base of the falls for a great view of Fairy Falls. If you have the time and energy, extend your hike by following the trail past the falls to see two geysers and a mud pot. Going counter-clock wise on the short loop beyond the meadow, the second geyser erupts frequently from its colorful pool. This is also where the small mud put can be found near the edge of the pool.
