Trail follows the bluffs on the southwest shoreline of Kaw Lake. Kaw Lake elevation was 1,017 ft on this hike, which left the backs of the main coves dry. Check the lake level before hiking to avoid any dead ends due to high water: http://www.swt-wc.usace.army.mil/KAWL.lakepage.html Southern trailhead is in the Osage Cove campground and the northern trailhead is at Burbank Landing. Decent trail but needs a little TLC. The first 2.5 miles from Osage Cove is clearly marked but blazes start to diminish after that.
