Day 3 was easily the prettiest of our hikes. We started in the rain from our waterfall campsite and hiked at a slow downward pace along a river. Then it was up, up, up in the rain until we looked down on the clouds below. The trail rose to above tree line, past a small lake, and up to Trail Rider Pass which did do me in. Fortunately, Kevin provided encouragement, and I make the final ascent at less than 1 MPH with breaks. The view from the top as magnificent with Snowmass Lake and Snowmass Mountain on the other side. We then dropped back down to about 10,800' to camp.
