Sage Creek Loop Day 2 (9/6/19, 06:39:31)
-woke up at 530. Gorgeous sunrise, red clouds
-hiked for over an hour along the winding creek bed, which had more and more water in it the further I went, meaning finding more shortcuts were necessary
-went poop at 730
-made it out of creek bed and into basin, followed bison trails where I could find them, often had to go through chest high grass
-kept following gps track for guidance, sort of a choose your own adventure
-got lightly rained on a couple of times
-terrain varied so much, from high grass to crumbly rock to dry cracking ground to mud to rocky mounds to grassy plateau
-at a high point around noon I got some service and was able to video call with mom and then dad
-saw bison, antelope, prairie dogs, lots of different birds and bugs
-did last 4 or 5 miles along the fence at the edge of the national park and private property
-made it back to the car at around 2:30
-such an amazing hike and landscape
